40" x 30" Prismacolor Painting

I did this one because I love to imagine what life might be like for the animals of the forests. Their world must be so quiet all the time, so very silent. Their lives are an ongoing struggle for survival and yet they are at all times surrounded by breathtaking beauty. Are they concious of this beauty? Are they aware of the magnificence of creation? Do they ever stop to glance about them and gather these visions the way that humans do?
I like to think that they do.

The DeZion art gallery in Springdale Utah (located at the mouth of Zion’s canyon) has agreed to show my work. It’s a really nice gallery and I quite like the other art that they have there. They are even going to let me be in a show. The reception will be on the 4th of July and they would like me to get as many paintings of Zion’s national park done as I possibly can before then so I’m just going at it like crazy these days. I’m really enjoying the work. To be honest I wasn’t sure that I would since I’ve never been all that interested in doing landscapes but Zion’s national park is so breathtakingly beautiful that I’m really getting into it. I’ll post the paintings on here as I finish them.
I am fascinated by the natural world around me and the people who live in it. Nature is art, and I love to try and capture the beauty that resonates through it. Everything and everyone has a story to tell. Everything and everyone around us is full of emotion and life and has had experiences that we can’t even imagine.
